Recovery Services Assistant
Summary
Primary responsibility is to process all mail received by the Recovery Services Department. In addition, this individual assists with processes all mail received by office location, as needed. This individual initiates Recovery Services investigations and submits Letters of Authorization.
Essential Duties and Functions
- Scans and indexes all mail and documents for Recovery Services department within 24 hours, saved to server.
- Assists with processing all mail received by office location, as needed.
- Sets up Cases in Case Management System and assigns tasks.
- Enters all key data elements relevant to the case into Case Management System, including Conditional Payment case data and invoice information, with quality assurance of the data to ensure accuracy.
- Generates and follows up on Medicare Proof of Representation and Letter(s) of Authorization to obtain signature from Clients.
- Initiates Conditional Payment Investigation with CRC/ BCRC and submits the Letter(s) of Authorization through the online portal or faxes to CRC/ BCRC.
- Makes phone calls to the COBC to report cases and to determine whether Claimant is a current Medicare beneficiary.
- Follows up phone calls with CRC/ BCRC to ensure requests have been received and to obtain status of the case; updates Case Management System accordingly.
- Creates spreadsheet summaries of diagnosis, DRG and HCPC codes.
- Faxes or uploads documents to CRC/ BCRC for final demand or closure.
- Supports team cohesiveness through on-going diplomatic effective written and verbal communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Exceptional telephone demeanor
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree and/or college courses
- 1-3 Years of experience in Workers Compensation
- Experience in call center environment
