CMS to Begin Using 2022 Life Table

Starting June 14, 2025, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will begin using the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) “Table 1: Life Table for the total population: United States, 2022” for Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set Aside (WCMSA) life expectancy calculations.

For any WCMSA proposal received by CMS through the voluntary review program, or where any WCMSA case is reopened on or after June 14, the Workers’ Compensation Review Contractor will apply the CDC’s 2022 Table 1 for life expectancy calculations.
