September 27 Having the Right Game Plan: Settlement Projects
Join us as we review how having the right game plan can make your settlement process more successful. In this webinar we will discuss choosing the right case for settlement, examine creating a custom playbook for each case, and explore sample case savings.
October 4 The Xs and Os: Statutory Law and Case Law Updates
As aggressive litigation involving the recovery rights of Medicare Advantage Plans continues to roll on, we want to keep you up to date on the most recent developments. During this webinar, we will examine two recent cases from the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. We will also discuss possible changes to Medicaid reimbursement rights from the Supreme Court Decision in Gallardo v. Marstiller.
October 11 Innovative Offense Wins Games: Section 111
We all know the best Defense is a good Offense.  So, now is the time to build and analyze your game plan as Civil Monetary Penalties are about to take the field.
October 18 Defensive Intelligence Wins Championships: Conditional Payments
Medicare’s process for collecting conditional payments is different from a Medicare Advantage or Prescription plans.  By understanding Medicare’s offense, you can develop an effective response and defense against unwanted reimbursement or penalties. In this webinar, we will focus in on the differences between the two processes, review the challenges faced by settling parties, and recommend steps for resolving liens associated with workers’ compensation claims.
October 25 The Underappreciated Impact of Special Teams: Annuities and Administration
Offense may get all of the glory, but Special Teams can make (or break) a win.  Just like a good runback, good field position with annuities can save you having to go the full length of the field (or fully funding an annuity).  Game winning kicks or two-point conversions add to the score – just like a post settlement administration can add security to the settlement.
November 1 Calling an Audible: To Submit to CMS or Not
Should you be aggressive against a prevent defense? This webinar will address what a file should look like to get a successful and predictable result from CMS. We will review how to address and mitigate the common scenarios that result in high CMS’ counters, which can significantly delay, or even prevent, the possibility of settlement. We will also discuss some scenarios where not submitting to CMS may be the winning strategy.
November 8 Taking the Game to New Places: Liability MSAs
Medicare Secondary Payer compliance for future medical payments extends beyond workers’ compensation settlements. Join us as we discuss when and why you may need an MSA for your liability settlement. With proposed rulemaking on the horizon, we will touch on the history of the liability MSA, what do in the interim, and the possible future for liability MSAs.
November 15 Successful Outcomes: Liability CPs
Failure to resolve Medicare liens can result in carrier/self-insureds or beneficiaries dealing with reimbursement requests years after settlement or closure of a claim. In this webinar, we will focus on issues faced by carrier/self-insureds involving liability settlements and policies associated with claims such as: wrongful death, motor vehicle accidents, occupational injury policies, and property incidents.  Attendees will gain a better understanding of Medicare’s collection process and explore our recommendations for resolving conditional payments associated with liability claims.
