CMS Issues New WCMSA Reference Guide Version 4.4

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently issued an update to their Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set Aside (WCMSA) Reference Guide (version 4.4). Changes to this version of the guide include an update to the CDC Life Tables (Section 10.3).

The CDC Life Table being utilized by CMS beginning June 14, 2025, is Table 1: Life Table for the total population: United States, 2022. You can download the current life table here. Life Tables are used by CMS to calculate adjusted life expectancies for WCMSAs.
